PLASTY GALLERY * HEADS BY NAME (1964 - 1986)

Some words about the identification of Plasty fashion dolls
Many Plasty dolls can be identified through body markings: some dolls have their names written on their back (Petra, Fred or Peggy), some with the addition "von Plasty" and some have neck markings (their name). Only the first version of Petra, Peggy and Fred dolls had no marking at all.
Sometimes people sell dolls with "Made in Hong Kong" markings as Petra, but Plasty Petra dolls never had such markings. There were only some Peggy Star dolls in the late 1970s, that have a Hong Kong marking.
A good way to identify Plasty dolls is to check old Petra booklets. Besides, there are a few websites that show good pictures.
I have made this gallery to give a good overview, but it is not complete, cause there are so many different Petra dolls. Fundamental changes of Petra dolls happened around 1967 (the very popular and easy-to-identify classic Petra face, introduction of twistable waist and slightly bendable plastic legs), in 1973 (new faces of Petra Star and Petra Juwel and bendable vinyl legs) and in 1982 (new head design with "babyface").
